MDHHS to host webinar on Healthy Michigan Plan changes coming Jan. 1, 2020

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) will be holding a provider webinar about upcoming changes to the Healthy Michigan Plan on September 24, 2019 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Attendees will receive information about the upcoming changes and can submit questions.

What will the webinar cover?

MDHHS is implementing new work, healthy behavior and cost-sharing requirements on Jan. 1, 2020 for Medicaid beneficiaries who have Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP) health care coverage. HMP beneficiaries will be subject to the new requirements as a condition of Medicaid eligibility based on the criteria outlined below:

  • Work requirements: For HMP beneficiaries who are between the ages of 19 and 62 and do not meet exemption criteria
  • Healthy Behavior and Cost Sharing Requirements: For HMP beneficiaries who have been enrolled in a Medicaid Health Plan for at least 48 cumulative months, have an income greater than 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), and do not meet exemption criteria.
