Ongoing impacts from the Change Healthcare outage

02/26/2024

The February 21 cyberattack on Change Healthcare continues to impact the entire health care industry.

At Priority Health, we worked to quickly turn off connections to Change Healthcare to protect our members, employers, agents and you—our providers. Although we don't yet know whether our member information was impacted as a result of this cyberattack on Change Healthcare, it has resulted in disruption to some Priority Health processes.

We’re working to get more information and solutions so we can return to normal business practices. Until then, here’s more information on how we can best work together:

Submitting claims

If you typically use Change Healthcare to submit claims, you can continue to hold claims, or you can work with another clearinghouse. We work with multiple clearinghouses if you choose to switch.

You can also submit paper claims, which are still processing normally.

Getting remittance advices (RAs)

We continue to pay claims previously received. However, electronic RAs are not currently available. We will not print and mail RAs. You can get RAs through Filemart if you already have Filemart set up and use this to get RAs.

Authorizations

You can continue to submit authorizations electronically. You're not able to complete medical necessity criteria in InterQual, so we’re doing this for your authorizations manually after you submit. You may experience delays on authorization decisions.

Capitation and admin payments

Capitation and admin payments, which were scheduled to pay this week, will be delayed. If you receive these payments, check back for updates on when these will be processed.

We’ll keep you updated as we have more information, and we appreciate your patience as we work together through this outage.
