The 988 Lifeline is now active across the U.S.
988 has been designated as the new three-digit code that routes calls and texts to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline — now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The previous 1-800-273-TALK (8255) number will continue to function.
