New year, new approach to health care: MyPriority Holistic gives health insurance shoppers options
(Grand Rapids, Mich. – Jan. 8, 2016) Priority Health is the first health plan in Michigan to offer holistic care and traditional coverage all in one plan – an excellent option for those currently using or looking to explore acupuncture or massage services in the new year.
Priority Health's MyPriority® Holistic, through a partnership with American Specialty Health Networks (ASH), provides coverage for acupuncture to treat a medical condition and medical massage services in addition to a traditional care plan as well as free virtual visit care and cash rewards for staying active.
"This product supports the growing number of people who are turning to holistic care to support their health alongside traditional medicine," said Marti Lolli, senior director of product development for Priority Health. "Creating access to this type of care furthers our work to help improve the health and lives of the people we serve."
According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, nearly 38 percent of adults and 12 percent of children are using some form of holistic medicine in the United States.
MyPriority Holistic is a plan, offered on and off the Health Insurance Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) for people who buy their own health insurance, which provides members with immediate access to medically-necessary acupuncture and massage services using ASH's network of specialty service providers. Members are eligible for up to 20 visits a year at an approved ASH facility with a $30 copayment.
Priority Health members will also have access to an ExerciseRewards™ program. Members can earn up to $120 annually based on their level of activity, as well as discounts at fitness facilities.
