Your Priority Health payments, your way.

Starting Sept. 1, 2026, your claim and capitation payments for Priority Health members will be managed by Optum Financial, in partnership with ECHO Health Inc. Below, find information and resources to help you navigate this transition.

Page last updated on: 5/13/26

We’re working with Optum Financial (Optum) and ECHO Health, Inc. (ECHO) to provide payment and payment reconciliation services to you, our provider network. This supports our ongoing commitment to simplify and improve your payments, offering you quicker reimbursement and more payment methods to choose from.

What’s changing?

Starting with dates of service on Sept. 1, 2026, you’ll receive your Priority Health claim and capitation payments and associated RAs/835s and 1099s from ECHO.

During this transition, there will be a period of dual payment operations. Payments will be based on date of service. You’ll receive claim payments (and their associated RAs/835s and 1099s) from Priority Health’s legacy system for dates of service on / before Aug. 31, 2026. These payments will follow the preferences you’ve already established with Priority Health. This will be true regardless of when you submit the claim.

You may receive payments / RAs from both systems for up to 12 months depending on claim runout, adjustments and resubmissions for DOS prior to Sept. 1, 2026. Depending on how you decide to set up your payments with ECHO, you may receive payments / RAs by more than one method during this transition.

See the FAQs below for more information on this dual operations period.

What’s not changing?

A small number of payments (i.e., incentive program payments) will continue to be made directly by Priority Health. Priority Health will also continue to manage electronic data interchange (EDI) set up, apart from 835s.

What action do you need to take?

With Optum / ECHO, you have more payment choices. Whether you need to take action this summer depends on how you receive your payments today and how you’d like to receive your payments in the future.

Providers getting EFT / ERA now don’t need to take action.

We want this transition to be simple and seamless. If the following apply to you, there’s nothing you need to do. We’ll get you set up to continue receiving EFT / ERA without interruption.

  1. You’re already enrolled in Optum’s Quick Post Advisor ACH – you’ll automatically receive your Priority Health payments by EFT.
  2. You receive EFT from Priority Health now – we’ll securely share EFT banking information with Optum for providers who’ve gotten an EFT payment from us since Jan. 1, 2025. Optum / ECHO will then set you up with their no-fee EFT payment option (called Direct Pay ACH).* Also, if you sign up for EFT payments with Priority Health directly, through pris,, by July 31, 2026, we'll securely share your payment information with Optum, too.
  3. You receive ERAs from Priority Health now – we’ll securely share your clearinghouse information with Optum. Optum / ECHO will then establish your ERA / 835 connection for uninterrupted delivery. Also, if you sign up to get ERAs from Priority Health directly by Aug. 31, 2026, we'll securely share your clearinghouse information with Optum, too.

*ECHO will contact you in early July if they can’t get you set up for EFT. They’ll request that you complete online enrollment yourself.

Providers getting paid by paper check now may want to take action this summer.

Providers that get Priority Health payments – claim and/or capitation – by paper check today should review their payment choices with ECHO. You can get your payments from ECHO by paper check, but it’s not automatic. And there are more payment choices available, including:

  • EFT (also called ACH) – receive payment by direct deposit to your bank account (no-fee and fee-based options available)
  • Virtual Credit Card (VCC) – process a unique, one-time use credit card to receive your payment (normal credit card transaction fees apply)
  • Medical Payment Exchange (MPX) – get instant access to your payment through any browser (invitation from ECHO to enroll required)
  • Paper check – available if you’ve opted out of VCC (and MPX, if invited to enroll)

ECHO’s enrollment / opt-out period starts July 1. Review your payment options below so you’re ready to take any necessary steps to set up your payment preferences.

Online enrollment through ECHO’s website is required.* Enrollment starts July 1, 2026. We recommend you submit the enrollment form by Aug. 18, 2026. This will allow enough time to get your EFT payments set up before Sept. 1.

You will need to provide identifying information such as TIN, banking information and an ECHO draft number / payment amount. If you don’t have ECHO draft information, contact ECHO Provider Support at 888.834.3511 for help. See ECHO’s EFT enrollment guide and EFT enrollment companion guide for detailed instructions.

There are several EFT payment choices:

Direct Pay ACH (no fees)

With Direct Pay ACH, you’ll receive Priority Health payments by direct deposit to your bank account. To enroll, submit the Direct Pay ACH online enrollment form starting in early July.

Quick Post Advisor ACH (fees may apply)

Enroll one time to receive EFT payments from all payers processing payments through Optum. To enroll, submit the Quick Post Advisor ACH online enrollment form starting in early July.

Optum Pay ACH and National Payments Connector (NPx) (fees may apply)

These EFT payment solutions are only available to providers who are already enrolled in them through other payers. If this applies to you, you must opt out of VCC payments (see below) and MPX payments (if invited, see below) to be paid this way.

*Providers who’ve gotten an EFT payment from us since Jan. 1, 2025, don’t need to complete ECHO’s online enrollment. We’ll securely share EFT banking information with Optum to set you up with Direct Pay ACH.

These unique, one-time use credit cards allow you to process your payments via a card terminal. Normal credit card transaction fees apply. Providers that don’t enroll in EFT payments with ECHO will automatically receive VCC payments. You may opt out at any time:

  • Before Sept. 1, 2026: visit echovcards.com/letter and enter your TIN’s unique verification code, found on the notification letter*
  • Starting Sept. 1, 2026: visit echovcards.com and enter your VCC payment information to request future payments be made by a different method
  • Anytime: Contact ECHO Provider Support at 833.202.5918

VCC payments are sent via fax or mail – email is not available currently. Each VCC payment is delivered with a detailed explanation of payment (EOP) and cover sheet that includes instructions for processing.

*Providers not being automatically enrolled in EFT should receive this letter in early July. If you don’t or if you need help finding your TIN’s verification code, contact ECHO Provider Support at 833.202.5918.

An invitation from ECHO is required to enroll in MPX. Offered in partnership with Deluxe Corporation, MPX is an electronic payment delivery method that gives you instant access to your payment through any browser. Choose to receive your payment as real-time VCC, enroll in EFT for all future payments or print a check right at your office’s printer.

Providers who are not enrolled in EFT and have opted out of VCC payments may get an invitation from ECHO to sign up for MPX payments. Get more information in ECHO’s MPX reference guide.

Providers that have enrolled in MPX payments with another payer must opt out of VCC payments for Priority Health to receive Priority Health payments in their MPX portal account.

Providers who have opted out of all other payment options will receive paper checks in the mail. If you receive paper checks from Priority Health today, you won’t automatically receive paper checks with this transition – action is required. You must:

  • Opt out of virtual credit cards
  • Opt out of MPX, if invited to enroll
  • Not be enrolled in Optum Pay / NPx
  • Not enroll in EFT

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why might I receive payments from both Priority Health and ECHO at the same time?

During the transition, there will be a period of dual payment operations. Payments are routed based on date of service (DOS). As a result, you may receive payments from both systems for up to 12 months while older claims continue to finalize.

How does date of service (DOS) determine which system pays me?

  • DOS on / before Aug. 31, 2026: Paid through Priority Health’s legacy payment system, using the payment preferences you have established with Priority Health*
  • DOS starting Sept. 1, 2026: Paid through ECHO, using the payment preferences you establish with ECHO. This applies even if claims are processed or paid after Sept. 1, 2026.

How long will the dual payment operations period last?

The dual payment operations period may last up to 12 months, depending on claim runout, adjustments and resubmissions for dates of service prior to Sept. 1, 2026.

Will I receive separate RAs during the dual payment operations period?

Yes. During the transition period:

  • RAs for legacy payments will continue to come from Priority Health
  • RAs for new payments will come from ECHO
  • Providers should expect to reconcile payments using two sources during this period

Will my payment / RA method be the same in both systems during the transition?

Not necessarily. Payment and RA methods depend on the system issuing the payment:

  • Legacy Priority Health payments and RAs will follow your existing setup
  • ECHO payments and RAs will follow the payment option selected (or defaulted) under the new process

This means you could temporarily receive payments and RAs in different formats (i.e., you could receive paper checks and RAs from Priority Health but EFT payments and ERAs from ECHO, if you enroll).

Do I need to enroll twice or take action for both systems?

No. Any enrollment or opt-out actions you take with ECHO apply only to payments for DOS starting Sept. 1, 2026. No changes are required for legacy Priority Health payments.

What if I want to make changes to my payment / RA preferences for DOS on / before Aug. 31, 2026?

We’ll stop accepting EFT enrollments / changes through prism (except for EFT terminations) on July 31, 2026. We’ll stop accepting new ERA enrollments effective Aug. 31, 2026.

How should large groups or ACNs prepare for dual operations?

Clear internal processes during this period can help minimize confusion and rework. Organizations with centralized billing should plan for:

  • Temporary reconciliation across two payment systems
  • Internal communication to billing teams about date-of-service rules

At what level is payment setup managed (TIN vs. NPI)?

Payments will be managed by ECHO as they are today in Priority Health’s legacy system – taking your TIN and Type 2 NPI (pay-to NPI) into account.

Will all NPIs under my TIN be paid the same way?

Not necessarily. ECHO allows for configuration at the Type 2 NPI level, which could result in different payment methods across NPIs.

Are there fees associated with any payment options?

  • Direct ACH / EFT: No fees
  • Quick Post Advisor ACH: Fees may apply
  • Virtual Credit Card (VCC): Standard credit card processing fees
  • MPX: No fees
  • Paper checks: No fees

When will I receive information on how to enroll or opt out?

In early July 2026, providers not currently receiving EFT payments from us will receive a notification letter that includes a TIN-specific verification code and instructions for enrollment or opt-out for each payment type.

What is the recommended deadline to take action?

We encourage you to complete any actions you need to take regarding your preferred payment method by Aug. 18, 2026, to ensure payment by that method by Sept. 1, 2026.

Will this change affect claims processing or payment timing?

No. Claims adjudication and payment timing are not changing as part of this transition. Only the payment delivery and remittance management process is changing.

Will remittance advices (RAs) and 835s still be available online?

Yes. RAs (including PDF and 835s) will be available through ECHO for dates of service starting Sept. 1, 2026 at providerpayments.com. You’ll also have access to PDF RAs through our Epic provider portal starting on the same date.
Our provider portal transitions to Epic on Sept. 1. We’ll soon share details on how to access your RAs for DOS on / before Aug. 31, 2026, when that transition takes place.

Will I receive more than one 1099 for 2026?

You may receive multiple 1099s, depending on the payment types you receive (i.e., claim, capitation, admin, offline, etc.) and whether you submit a claim to us for a date of service starting Sept. 1, 2026.

Will any payments continue to be managed by Priority Health after Sept. 1, 2026?

Yes. Priority Health will continue to directly manage a small number of payments (i.e., incentive program payments).

Does this affect claim payments for dates of service before Sept. 1, 2026?

No. Payments for dates of service prior to Sept. 1, 2026, will continue to follow existing processes and will be paid by whatever method (EFT or paper check) you have set up with Priority Health already.

Where can providers view provider documents and payment information for payments made by ECHO?

Provider documents can be accessed online at providerpayments.com (login required). See ECHO’s provider portal guide for more information.

Can I opt out of virtual credit card payments?

Yes. Providers who don’t want to receive VCC payments can opt out anytime:

  • Before Sept. 1, 2026: visit echovcards.com/letter and enter your TIN’s unique verification code, found on the notification letter sent in early July*
  • On / after Sept. 1, 2026: visit echovcards.com and enter your VCC payment information to request the payment be made by a different method / to opt out of VCC cards entirely
  • Anytime: Contact ECHO Provider Support at 833.202.5918

*Providers not being automatically enrolled in EFT will receive this letter in early July. If you don’t or if you need help finding your TIN’s verification code, contact ECHO Provider Support at 833.202.5918.

Do I need to opt out of VCC payments?

If you sign up for EFT payments, you won’t need to also opt out of VCC payments. If you’re not signing up for EFT payments and want to receive payment by a method other than VCC (i.e., MPX or paper check), you’ll need to opt out of VCC payments first.

How do I opt out of VCC payments?

See “Can I opt out of virtual credit card payments?” above for instructions.

What is needed to accept a VCC payment?

You must be able to accept credit card payments to process a VCC. Processing VCC payments

is like accepting and entering patient payments via credit card into the payment system. If you’re not currently able to accept credit card payments, visit echovcards.com or contact the ECHO Provider Support team at 833.202.5918 for other VCC processing options.

How is a notification of a VCC payment received?

You’ll receive fax or mail notifications, each containing a VCC with a number unique to that payment transaction. Also included is an instruction page on how to process the payment. If you would like to receive VCCs via fax instead of mail, visit echovcards.com to add a fax number to your preferences. You may also contact the ECHO Provider Support team at 833.202.5918 to provide a fax number.

Can VCC payments be emailed?

The first attempt to receive a VCC is by fax. If there is no fax number on file or the fax attempt

is unsuccessful, then the VCC is sent by mail. At this time, VCC cannot be emailed for security purposes.

What happens if a VCC payment isn’t processed within 60 days?

If the VCC is not processed within 60 days, the transaction will be voided, and a paper check will be mailed to the provider. Providers not wishing to process VCCs can visit echovcards.com or contact the ECHO Provider Support team at 833.202.5918 to enroll for another payment method.

Do I need to do anything if I already receive EFT from Priority Health?

No. If you’ve received an EFT payment from Priority Health since Jan. 1, 2025, there’s nothing you need to do. We’ll securely share the EFT banking information you have on file with us with Optum, and you’ll be automatically enrolled in Direct Pay ACH, a no-fee EFT payment solution.

What happens if I don’t currently receive EFT and take no action?

If you do not enroll in EFT or opt out of virtual credit card (VCC) payments, you will automatically receive payments via virtual credit card beginning Sept. 1, 2026.

What happens if I have an EFT enrollment request currently under review / processing with Priority Health on / before July 31, 2026?

You’ll be all set. We’ll securely share your EFT banking information with ECHO. ECHO will then set you up with their no-fee EFT payment solution (called Direct Pay ACH).

If I want to newly enroll in EFT payments for DOS on / after Sept. 1, 2026, what do I need to do?

Enroll online directly with ECHO beginning in early July. We recommend submitting your enrollment form by Aug. 18, 2026, to ensure set up is complete by Sept. 1, 2026.

What information do I need to share for EFT enrollment?

You must an enrollment form (links above). You will need to provide identifying information such as a tax identification number, banking information and an ECHO draft number and payment amount as part of the enrollment authentication. If you don’t have a draft number, contact ECHO customer service at 888.834.3511 for help.

How can I check the status of my EFT enrollment?

Due to the robust fraud detection processes in place, enrollments generally take 10 business days to

process. However, if additional information is requested, enrollments may take up to 30 days. To

check the status of an EFT enrollment, you can ECHO contact customer support at 888.834.3511.

Do I need to do anything to complete EFT enrollment after submitting the online form?

Yes. If you’re enrolling through the online form, you must complete a “penny test” to verify your banking information before enrollment is complete. Get more information on page 11 of ECHO’s EFT enrollment guide.

How will the payments from ECHO appear on my bank statement?

Your ACH payments from Priority Health claims with dates of service on / after Sept. 1, 2026, will appear on your bank statement from Huntington National Bank and ECHO as “HNB – ECHO”.

How can I review my EFT set up with ECHO?

After Sept. 1, 2026, you can contact the ECHO Provider Support team at 833.202.5918 for assistance.

How can I change my EFT set up with ECHO?

After Sept. 1, 2026, you can submit EFT changes through ECHO’s online enrollment form.

What is MPX, and do I have to use it?

Offered in partnership with Deluxe Corporation, this is an electronic payment delivery method gives you instant access to your payment through any browser. With MPX payments, you can choose to receive your payment as real-time VCC, enroll in EFT for all future payments, or print a check right at your office’s printer.

How do I enroll in MPX payments?

If you are not enrolled in EFT and you have opted out of VCC payments, you may get an offer via fax or email to sign up for MPX payments. Get more information in ECHO’s MPX reference guide.

Once enrolled for MPX, how do I receive notification of a payment made through MPX?

Enrolled providers will receive an email notification to indicate a payment is waiting for your actions in the portal.

What is Optum Pay?

With Optum Pay, providers can receive EFT payments for all payers in the Optum Pay network. You can only be paid this way if you’re already signed up with Optum for this product.

What is NPx?

With NPx, providers can receive EFT payments for all payers in the Optum NPx network. You can only be paid this way if you’re already signed up with Optum for this product.

How do I sign up for Optum Pay or NPx?

If you are signed up for Optum Pay or NPx already through another payer and want to receive your Priority Health payments this way, you’ll need to opt out of VCC and MPX payments first.

What is an ERA?

An ERA is an electronic file that contains claim payment and remittance information. It is often referred to by its HIPAA transaction number, 835.

Where can I find my RAs / EOPs and 835s?

  • For DOS starting Sept. 1, 2026: View, search and print / download EOPs and 835s online at providerpayments.com (account required, see ECHO’s provider portal guide for details). You’ll also find PDF remittance advices in Priority Health’s provider portal.
  • For DOS on / before Aug. 31, 2026: Our provider portal transitions to Epic on Sept. 1. We’ll soon share details on how to access your RAs for DOS on / before Aug. 31, 2026, when that transition takes place.

If I don’t have ERA / 835 set up with Priority Health now, how can I get set up for ERA / 835 from ECHO?

Complete ERA enrollment portion of ECHO’s online enrollment form

If I already have ERA / 835 set up with Priority Health, will that be transferred over to ECHO?

Yes, we’ll transfer your ERA / clearinghouse information to ECHO to ensure uninterrupted distribution throughout this transition.

What if I get paper RAs now but want to set up ERA / 835 with Priority Health?

We’ll accept new ERA / 835 set up requests through Priority Health’s legacy system through Aug. 31, 2026. This will establish ERA / 835 for claims for DOS on / before Aug. 31, effective the claim payment cycle after the request is submitted. We won’t accept new requests starting Sept. 1, 2026.

What if I need to update my clearinghouse information with Priority Health after Sept. 1, 2026?

We’ll accept ERA / 835 updates for Priority Health distribution for DOS on / before Aug. 31, 2026, via email. Contact our EDI team at edisetup@priorityhealth.com.

Note: this will not make changes to any ERA / 835 set up you have with ECHO for DOS starting Sept. 1, 2026.
