As a reminder, we’re working with Optum Financial (Optum) and ECHO Health Inc (ECHO) to offer you more payment options. Your Priority Health claims and capitation payments, remittance details and 1099s will come from ECHO for dates of service starting Aug. 1, 2026.
As we prepare for this transition, we want to make sure you understand your payment choices and any actions you may need to take.
What action do you need to take?
With Optum / ECHO, you have more payment choices. Whether you need to take action this summer depends on how you receive your payments today and how you’d like to receive your payments in the future.
Providers getting EFT / ERA now don’t need to take action.
We want this transition to be simple and seamless. If the following apply to you, there’s nothing you need to do. We’ll get you set up to continue receiving EFT / ERA without interruption.
- You’re already enrolled in Optum’s Quick Post Advisor ACH – you’ll automatically receive your Priority Health payments by EFT.
- You receive EFT from Priority Health now* – we’ll securely share EFT banking information with Optum for providers who’ve gotten an EFT payment from us since Jan. 1, 2025. Optum / ECHO will then set you up with their no-fee EFT payment option (called Direct Pay ACH).
- You receive ERAs from Priority Health now – we’ll securely share your clearinghouse information with Optum. Optum / ECHO will then establish your ERA / 835 connection for uninterrupted delivery.
*If you don’t want us to share your EFT data, that’s no problem. Please let us know by Apr. 30, 2026, by completing this brief online form, and review your payment options / actions you may need to take below.
Providers getting paid by paper check now may want to take action this summer.
Providers that get Priority Health payments – claim and/or capitation – by paper check today should review their payment choices with ECHO. You can get your payments from ECHO by paper check, but it’s not automatic. And there are more payment choices available.
ECHO’s enrollment / opt-out period starts June 1. We recommend you take any necessary steps with ECHO by July 17. Review your payment options below.
Available payment types
| Virtual Credit Card (VCC) | A unique, one-time use credit card number to process your payments via a card terminal. Normal credit card transaction fees apply. If you don’t enroll in EFT payments, you’ll automatically receive VCC payments until you opt out. You may opt out at any time. |
| Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) / Automated Clearing House (ACH) | Allows you to receive claim payments from Priority Health by direct deposit to your bank account. Enrollment is required. No-fee and fee-based options available. |
| Medical Payment Exchange (MPX) | Offers you the opportunity to receive your payment as a real-time VCC, to enroll in EFT for all future payments or to print a check right at your office’s printer. Enrollment is required. No fees. |
| Optum Pay and National Payments Connector (NPx) | Allow providers already enrolled in these Optum products through other payers to receive their Priority Health payments by these EFT methods. |
| Paper checks | Sent to providers who have opted out of all other payment options. If you receive paper checks today (including capitation payments), you won’t automatically receive paper checks with this transition – action is required. No fees. |
Watch for a letter & start taking action in June
In early June, you’ll receive a notification letter that includes:
- Instructions for establishing your preferred payment type
- A TIN-specific verification code needed to opt out of VCC payments before Aug. 1, 2026
Note: If you don’t receive or can’t locate the notification letter and verification code that will be sent in June, you can contact ECHO Customer Support 833.202.5918.
Dual operations period
During the transition, there will be a period of dual payment operations. Payments will be made based on date of service (DOS):
- DOS on / before July 31, 2026: payments and RAs will come directly from Priority Health as you’re paid today (legacy system), regardless of when you submit the claim
- DOS on / after Aug. 1, 2026: payments and RAs will come from ECHO
As a result, you may receive payments / RAs from both systems for up to 12 months depending on claim runout, adjustments and resubmissions for dates of service prior to Aug. 1, 2026. Depending on how you decide to set up your payments with ECHO, you may receive payments by more than one method during this transition (i.e., paper checks from Priority Health’s legacy system, but EFT from ECHO).
Any enrollment / opt-out actions you take with ECHO apply only to payments for DOS on / after Aug. 1, 2026. Your elections won’t impact legacy Priority Health payments.
