On Sept. 1, 2026*, you’ll start receiving claim and capitation payments, remittance details and 1099s from ECHO Health Inc., in partnership with Optum Financial. Over the next few weeks, you may have some steps to take to establish your payment preferences, and there are several important dates to keep in mind . We want to make this as simple as possible for you. Below is everything you need to get started.
*Note: this date has been updated from Aug. 1, to remain aligned with the launch of our new provider portal on Sept. 1.

With this transition, you have more payment options available, each with their own steps to set up. There will be a dual operations period, when you’ll get payments from both Priority Health’s legacy system and ECHO. And you likely have questions about how this all impacts you.
We put together a dedicated webpage in our Provider Manual with details on:
- What’s changing with this transition, and what’s not
- Your payment options, with instructions to set up your preferences
- FAQs to address common questions on everything from dual payment operations and your payment options to ERAs and portal access
- Contact information in case you need additional support
Take some time to review the new webpage – and bookmark it for easy access later.
Know whether you need to take action, and when
With Optum / ECHO, you have more payment choices. Whether you need to take action this summer depends on how you receive your payments today and how you’d like to receive your payments in the future.
Providers getting EFT / ERA now don’t need to take action
We want this transition to be simple and seamless. If you’re already getting EFT and/or ERA from Priority Health now, you’re all set. As we noted last month, we’re securely sharing your banking and clearinghouse information with Optum to get you set up to receive EFT / ERA without interruption – unless you opted out.
Also, if you’re already signed up with Optum’s fee-based EFT solution (Quick Post Advisor ACH), you’ll automatically get your Priority Health payments by EFT.
Providers getting paid by paper check now may want to take action this summer
Providers that get Priority Health payments – claim and/or capitation – by paper check today should review their payment choices with ECHO. You can get your payments from ECHO by paper check, but it’s not automatic. And there are more payment choices available, including EFT, virtual credit card (VCC), e-check (MPX) and paper check. ECHO’s enrollment / opt-out period starts July 1. Review your payment options in our Provider Manual so you’re ready to take any necessary steps to set up your payment preferences.
Watch out for your provider notification letter
In early July, you’ll receive a letter in the mail at the billing address we have on file for you, detailing any steps you specifically may want to take before Sept. 1.
If you get EFT payments now and we’ve securely shared your payment information with Optum, you’ll get one of two letters:
- Confirmation that your EFT / ERA migration was successful and you’re enrolled in Optum’s no-fee EFT solution (Direct Pay ACH), or
- Notice that your EFT / ERA migration was unsuccessful with instructions for enrolling via ECHO’s website
If you get paper check payments now, you’ll receive a letter that includes:
- Information on your payment options
- Enrollment / opt out instructions
- A TIN-specific verification code needed to opt out of virtual credit card payments online before Sept. 1
If you don’t get your letter or have questions, you can contact ECHO Provider Support at 833.202.5918.
Take note of these important dates
With any change, it’s important to keep an eye on key deadlines and transition points:
