Priority Health supports employers and members amid COVID-19 crisis with launch of new virtual resources
(Grand Rapids, Mich. – Mar. 30, 2020) As the COVID-19 outbreak continues, Priority Health is now offering additional virtual resources to support members and employers. The company has added an Employer Decision Guide that outlines options for helping employees maintain health coverage, along with a new COVID-19 screening bot that helps the user determine their risk level and offers resources based on their individual result. Following Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order, and the subsequent rise in unemployment claims, Priority Health immediately repurposed staff members to be dedicated navigators for members and employers who need help understanding health coverage options during a time of widespread temporary layoffs. The new Employer Decision Guide is a tool for business owners and employer benefit administrators that outlines opportunities to help employees maintain health coverage, including COBRA, individual plans, and a Healthy Michigan plan.

The COVID-19 screening bot is located on the Priority Health website and is available to the general public. The tool provides individuals with advice on how to proceed based on their current symptoms. Priority Health is continuing to encourage members to utilize virtual care in an effort to mitigate further spread of the illness and avoid overwhelming Michigan health care facilities.
Throughout the crisis, Priority Health has also announced that it is covering the cost of physician-ordered COVID-19 testing and labs for all members, offering free telehealth, expanding home medication delivery through partnerships with CVS, Meijer and Walgreens, and providing various educational resources to the public, and Priority Health members and employees.
