Site creation for our new Provider Portal is opening on Monday, June 15. If you are currently a prism Security Administrator (pSA), you’ll receive an email and prism notification on June 15 with a link and instructions for creating a site. Open these messages and take action immediately.
Do I need to create a site right away on June 15?
This is the first and most crucial step for getting access to the new Provider Portal for you and your organization. Delays in requesting a site may cause delays for other users at your organization being able to request accounts. It may also delay your access when the portal launches on September 1. To avoid these delays, take the steps to request a site on or soon after June 15.
How long does site creation take?
Requesting a site should take you less than 10 minutes. There are two parts:
- Entering site and user information: You’ll need your organization’s Type 2 NPI.
- Completing identity verification: You’ll need a device with a camera and a government-issued ID.
After you request your site, it could take between a few days and a few weeks for Priority Health to approve it, depending on the backlog of requests we’re working through.
What if I’m not a pSA but still need a Provider Portal account?
Account registration for all other users will begin August 3. Keep an eye out for notices and instructions about that process, including a training on July 27.
If you aren’t a pSA but need to create a site for an organization that doesn’t currently have any prism accounts, check our portal information page on or after June 15 for a link to the account creation instructions.
Is there training I can access to learn how to create a site?
Yes, we’re offering two more site creation training dates:
You can also access a recording of the training here. If you prefer, you can access a PDF of the training deck here.
Lastly, we have a short walkthrough video available on-demand here (login required).
Please complete one of these training opportunities prior to June 15 so you’re ready to create your site.
Wait, what’s a site?
A site is a practice, hospital or provider group that shares a Type 2 NPI among all its providers. A site must be created in our new Provider Portal before users can create portal accounts that access that site’s data. Only a Site Administrator can create a site.
What’s a Site Administrator?
A Site Administrator controls access to an organization’s site, like a pSA in prism. If you’re a pSA, you’ll probably be a Site Administrator for the new portal.
Crucially, to be a Site Administrator, you need to be a non-TPA user in an appropriate position to control access to your site’s provider and patient data. Each practice, hospital or provider group needs at least one Site Admin.
