Reminder: Changing ACNs may change your patients’ access to you or their cost share

Providers, remember that if you change your ACN affiliation, it may have the unintended consequence of changing your network status for some plans, pushing you out of network or into a higher tier   for patients you’re currently seeing.

Your participation in narrow and tiered network products can be impacted by ACN affiliation changes.

Provider participation in our narrow and tiered network products is usually based on your ACN affiliation. So if you currently see members with a MyPriority narrow network plan, switching ACNs could change your status to Out of Network for these members. Likewise, you could be bumped to Tier 2 for members with one of our tiered network plans. Your network status in some customer employer group plans may also be impacted.

Members with one of these plans could begin seeing higher out-of-pocket costs when you switch to a new ACN affiliation. If you’re a PCP, the member could also receive a reassignment letter when your network status changes.

It’s your responsibility to research ahead of time the impacts of your ACN affiliation change.

Check out our Provider Manual for plan information, including on our narrow and tiered network products.

You can also see which plans you’re participating in using our Find A Doctor tool. Search for your name or practice, then check the hyperlinked text in the Plans accepted field. Expand the different product dropdowns to see which plans you’re in network for.
