Members with a PHP TPA card have access to Priority Health’s network through the Cigna Strategic Alliance

Providers should be on the lookout for a card like the sample below, with Priority Health’s logo, along with the logos of Cigna and PHP.

This is a PHP TPA card. Members with this plan have access to Priority Health’s PPO network and should be seen the way Cigna and Cigna-affiliated members in Michigan are seen through our Strategic Alliance with Cigna.

Who is PHP TPA?

PHP TPA Services is part of Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana, which has been has been part of Priority Health since 2024.

Working with PHP TPA members

Follow the directions on the back of the PHP TPA member ID card for requesting authorization (precertification) and submitting claims.

Checking member eligibility, benefits and claims: Call 800.551.7334 or 260.436.9495, or log in at TPServices.VBAGateway.com (call for initial access).

Requesting authorization: Call 800.551.7334.

Submitting claims: All PHP TPA claims go to Cigna. Use the address listed on the back of the card or submit via EDI using payer ID 62308.

Your claims will be administered by PHP, but your reimbursement will be the same as it is for Cigna members.

What’s a TPA?

A third-party administrator (TPA) is a company that provides operational services, such as prior authorizations, claims processing, etc. This TPA product will be administered by PHP TPA Services, while the member maintains access to the Priority Health network through the Cigna Strategic Alliance. It is not a leased network.

There’s no need to get credentialed separately with PHP or Cigna. If you’re a credentialed provider with Priority Health, you’re all set to serve PHP TPA plan members.

When is the PHP TPA plan active?

We are currently piloting this solution with Priority Health employer groups. A small number of members could have coverage beginning this summer. After that, any groups who purchase this coverage will be effective January 1, 2027.

Is this different than HMA?

Yes. HMA is another TPA partner that has access to Priority Health’s network. For more information about HMA, see our Provider Manual.
