New vs. established patients

Every participating primary care provider receives a member list monthly from us. On the member list, you will see members identified as "new" or as "participating."

New patients have never been seen in your practice before. They are listed on your member listing for the first time.

Established patients have been on your member listing more than one month. They are considered "established" regardless of whether or not they have been seen as a patient in your office, or have been seen in your practice under other insurance coverage prior to becoming a Priority Health member.

Established patients retain their "established" status until they choose a new PCP or you discharge them. See our discharge requirements and process.
