Priority Health follows telehealth guidelines defined by CMS for our Medicare plans. Congress’s current extension of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) telehealth flexibilities that were in place for Medicare plans expires on Jan. 31, 2026.
There is currently a health care funding package under consideration by the federal government, which, if passed, would extend these flexibilities through Dec. 31, 2027. However, there is uncertainty about when the package may be voted on.
What steps are we taking?
We will put a temporary hold on Medicare telehealth claims received on or after Feb. 1, 2026, pending direction from the federal government. Our teams will monitor and be mindful of timely claims processing. By doing this, we aim to reduce potentially unnecessary claim denials.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate this together. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.
