Rybelsus®, a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes, is being discontinued by the manufacturer and replaced with Ozempic® tablets.
How will this impact members?
Members currently prescribed Rybelsus will need a new prescription for Ozempic tablets. To help simplify the transition, any existing prior authorizations for Rybelsus will automatically transfer to Ozempic tablets.
If a member wishes to switch to a different GLP-1 medication or to Ozempic injections, a new prescription and prior authorization will be required.
