Total Health Care Foundation and Priority Health partner with the Children's Foundation to improve health outcomes for communities in Detroit

The collaborative effort will create an effective and efficient process to reach children and families with great need.

(Detroit, Mich. – Oct. 19, 2020) – Total Health Care and Priority Health announced today a new collaboration with The Children’s Foundation to improve the health and well-being of the Detroit community through the recently established Total Health Care Foundation.

The Total Health Care Foundation has engaged The Children’s Foundation to provide operational support that will enable the new organization to operate more efficiently and effectively, and quickly begin working to make an impact. The Children’s Foundation will provide expertise in grant evaluation, processing and awarding on behalf of the Total Health Care Foundation. The Children’s Foundation’s standing in the community in addition to a history of tested programs and processes makes for a great partnership for the years to come.

“At Total Health Care our focus is on providing quality health coverage for our members and employer partners,” said Randy Narowitz, CEO of Total Health Care. “When we created the foundation, we wanted to find a partner with expertise to help us get started. The Children’s Foundation is already an established community resource with an excellent reputation, we are excited to work together and learn from their experience.”

The Total Health Care Foundation was created as a result of the merger between Total Health Care and Priority Health. The new foundation is focused on supporting organizations and programs that show promise in improving the health and well-being for the Detroit community and those that call this community home. The goal of the Total Health Care Foundation is to improve health outcomes of high-need areas and target the disparities that have become especially heightened during the recent COVID crisis.

“Our missions certainly align as we both seek to improve the health and well-being for children and families,” said President and CEO of Children’s Foundation, Lawrence J. Burns. “We are thrilled to be applying our expertise to Total Health Care Foundation’s efforts. Together we can make a greater impact to improve health outcomes for those in the Detroit community.”
