Priority Health and Abridge partner to deliver improved health outcomes by helping members stay on top of their health

Priority Health adds Abridge as a supplemental benefit to help members remember details of health conversations and share important updates with family

(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Nov. 3, 2022) Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan, announced today a partnership with Abridge, a company whose mission is to encourage understanding and follow-through across medical conversations. Priority Health now includes Abridge in its list of supplemental benefits for all Individual Medicare Advantage and Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) members.

The Abridge app creates an interactive transcript of the medical parts of health conversations so members can quickly review the high-level care plan down to the details of diagnoses, medications, treatments and follow ups. Additionally, Abridge works with trusted partners to define medical terms, helping people better understand their care plans.

“We want to make it easier for our members to take action in their personal health journey by providing the necessary tools and resources,” said Scott Norman, vice president of Medicare at Priority Health. “Abridge is a vital component of our programs designed to keep members healthy. Our partnership will support our longstanding commitment to bring our members innovative benefits that will help drive better individual health outcomes.”

The Abridge app will help Priority Health members remember the details of medical care and help family members stay on the same page on any care plans, even if they are unable to attend appointments. Now more than ever, technology is a vital link in helping people attend visits independently while keeping family members in the loop about the next steps of care.

“Priority Health’s dedication to bringing innovative, personalized solutions to its members closely aligns with Abridge’s commitment to helping people stay on top of their health and understand the details of their medical conversations,” said Shiv Rao, CEO and co-founder of Abridge. “Abridge offers users peace of mind, and we’re proud to partner with Priority Health to provide our technology to drive better health outcomes.”

This news comes during annual enrollment period for Medicare, taking place now through December 7. Learn more about Priority Health's plans.
