Priority Health only health plan in Michigan, one in four nationwide, to receive accreditation for improving health outcomes, delivering value to employers

(Grand Rapids, Mich. – Sept 30, 2016) Priority Health, once again, has been nationally recognized for its employer-based wellness programs, earning Wellness and Health Promotion Accreditation from the National Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA). The company maintains its status as the only Michigan-based health insurer, and one in four nationwide, to have achieved this designation.

"At Priority Health, we provide employers with customized wellness programs and solutions to empower their employees to pursue healthier lifestyles and achieve better overall health,” said Kandi Lannen, director of wellness for Priority Health. "By identifying and addressing health risks, we are able to help organizations guide their employees to improved well-being and reduce health care costs, a measurable return on investment for the company."

Priority Health's wellness services include assessments and biometric screenings, classes, company wellness challenges and in-depth reporting. The health insurer enables the employer to successfully incorporate a workplace wellness program into its health benefits package. In doing so, the company is able to support the health of its workforce, lessening employees’ risk of developing a chronic condition.

"We are uniquely equipped to serve our employer clients at Priority Health because we have case managers, nurses and health coaches on staff," said Lannen. "We have a long standing focus on workplace wellness and this in-house knowledge strongly contributes to our ability to help employers achieve lasting change within their organization."

NCQA measured the number of wellness performance guidelines that Priority Health submitted against a minimum scoring threshold.

"Priority Health is proud to continue to earn this designation," Lannen said. "As a company, we're committed to improving the health and lives of our members and their families, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care, and this accreditation symbolizes that commitment."
