Colon cancer screening pilot with FIT kits
Beginning the week of August 6, the Medicare Quality team in partnership with CenseoHealth will began a Colon cancer screening pilot. We reached out to 6,000 PriorityMedicare members who were due for colorectal cancer screenings and helped them close this gap in care by offering a free, in-home colon cancer screening kit (fecal immunochemical test – aka FIT kit).
This pilot consists of several different outreach methods:
- FIT kit and instructional letter mailed directly to members
- Call to action mailer which includes either an email, traditional letter or greeting card
- Live phone calls placed by employees
How much does it cost the member to complete the FIT kit?
FIT kits are available to Priority Health Medicare members at no cost.
How does a member get their FIT test results?
FIT test results will be handled by CenseoHealth. Results will be sent to the member, their primary care provider, and Priority Health. We’re also taking this outreach opportunity to confirm that we have a member’s correct PCP on file. A member may call Priority Health Customer Service to confirm/update their PCP if the provider we have listed is incorrect.
