Dental coverage changes for Medicaid members
The state of Michigan is requiring health plans to offer dental coverage for all Medicaid members including:
- Healthy Michigan (HMP) members (ages 19 and older)
- Adult Medicaid members (ages 21 and older)
- Any pregnant Medicaid member, excluding Health Kids Dental (HKD)
The Pregnant Women Dental Program (PWD) is inactive as of March 31, 2023. These members will transition to our Adult Medicaid Dental Program.
What should providers know?
Effective April 1, 2023, we’ll expand our partnership with Delta Dental to offer dental coverage for all Priority Health Medicaid members. Our contract with DenCap will be terminated.
Members can check if their current dentist is in the Delta Dental Healthy Michigan plan network, or they can choose or change to an in-network dentist by visiting the Delta Dental directory.
