JVHL Medicaid contract termination effective Jan. 1, 2019; providers to bill Priority Health directly

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Priority Health's contract with Joint Venture Hospital Laboratories (JVHL) will be terminated for the Medicaid product only. The contract is being terminated because of the State of Michigan's Medicaid requirement to enroll in their CHAMPS system.  JVHL is unable to enroll in CHAMPS, and therefore is not able to be a participating Medicaid provider.

Hospitals and providers will now need to bypass JVHL's billing and claims services and bill Priority Health directly for rendered laboratory services for the Medicaid product only. JVHL is currently in the process of notifying their member hospitals of this change, and Priority Health will also be sending letters to impacted provider in the next week.
