(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — July 17, 2023) Praveen Thadani, president of Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan serving more than 1.3 million members, has been named a “2023 Health Care Hero” by Crain’s Detroit Business.
Thadani is being recognized in the administrator and executive hero category, which honors
high-level administrators or executives at a hospital, health insurance company, pharmaceutical company or other health care-related support business who significantly contributed to their company and the health care industry.
Thadani is a transformative health care leader with more than 25 years of industry experience. Since joining Priority Health in 2021, he has addressed the health of all people by making health care more accessible, affordable, equitable and exceptional. As president, Thadani champions Priority Health’s efforts to provide value to health plan members and ensure consumers have what they need to be healthy and stay healthy.
Under his leadership, Priority Health has implemented innovative programs to address health equity and developed its first positions and department with a healthy equity focus. In March, Priority Health was awarded Health Equity Accreditation status from the National Committee for Quality Assurance, demonstrating a commitment to providing equitable health care to members and communities across the state.
Thadani will be honored during the Health Care Leadership Summit on October 26 in Grand Rapids.
