(WYANDOTTE, Mich. – JUNE 23, 2025) — The City of Wyandotte, Priority Health, and National Fitness Campaign (NFC) today announced a partnership to bring an outdoor Fitness Court® and digital wellness programming to the City of Wyandotte. The Fitness Court®, located at Pulaski Park, will open June 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Fitness Court® was developed by the City of Wyandotte, Priority Health, and NFC to expand free access to high-quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for communities across the region. The Fitness Court® allows users to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven exercise stations.

Created for adults of all abilities, ages 14 and up, the Fitness Court® workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court® App which acts as a “coach-in-your-pocket” and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience. The City of Wyandotte is one of 25 Campaign Partners building a network of Fitness Courts across the state, with the help of Priority Health.

“The addition of the Priority Health Fitness Court is an exciting step forward for Wyandotte,” said Robert DeSana, mayor of Wyandotte. “We’re proud to partner with Priority Health and the National Fitness Campaign to bring free, accessible wellness opportunities to our community. This court is a welcome addition to our ongoing commitment to improving Wyandotte’s parks and creating active spaces for residents of all ages. With a quick scan of the QR code, users can access guided workouts tailored to their fitness level and lifestyle, making it easier than ever to stay active.”

Shannon Wilson, vice president of population health and health equity at Priority Health, said: “At Priority Health, we believe all people have the right to a healthy life and that’s why we are committed to investing in the community to help reduce barriers to free, accessible fitness and improve wellness for the neighbors of Wyandotte. We are excited to partner with the city of Wyandotte and the National Fitness Campaign to open this Priority Health Fitness Court as we continue to expand on this initiative across the state.”

Mitch Menaged, found of National Fitness Campaign, said: “We are excited to have Pulaski Park join us in the journey to improve health and wellness as we work to make a powerful and long-lasting impact on health outcomes and happiness by building healthy communities across America. The addition of this outdoor Fitness Court®, along with digital wellness programming, demonstrates a tremendous commitment to the health and well-being within the community.”

Residents are invited to attend the launch event on June 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. and utilize the Fitness Court. For more information contact Wyandotte Recreation Department at 734-324-7295.
