Put these important ACA dates on your calendar

  • Mid-Oct.: You can begin shopping for a plan, get a quote and see if you qualify for financial assistance, but you can't enroll yet.
  • Nov. 1: The Open Enrollment Period (OEP) begins for health coverage for the following year. It's the first day you can enroll, re-enroll or change your health plan.
  • Dec. 15: The last day you can enroll through the OEP for coverage beginning Jan. 1.
  • Dec. 31: The last day you can enroll through a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for coverage beginning Jan. 1 if you have a Priority Health pre-ACA plan.
  • Jan 15: The last day you can enroll through the OEP for coverage beginning Feb 1; the OEP ends.
  • After Jan 15: You can only enroll or change your health coverage if you qualify for a SEP.
