Changing, renewing, or canceling your MyPriority plan

When you are enrolled in a MyPriority® health plan, your plan is a contract between you and us for your health care coverage from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 of the year. Normally you can't break the contract mid-year to change to a different plan, only cancel your plan. You'll have to wait for the fall Open Enrollment Period to sign up for a different plan in the new year.

Enrolling in a plan mid-year

If your life changes - for example, if you turn 27 while on your parent's plan, or if you leave an employer who offers a health plan - then you may qualify for a "Special Enrollment Period" when you can choose a new individual health plan. Check your health plan agreement about enrolling during a Special Enrollment Period.

Renewing your plan

Generally, if you have a MyPriority plan now and you do nothing to change it during the Open Enrollment Period, you'll stay enrolled in that same plan. You don't have to do anything to renew your plan.

During Open Enrollment we send you a letter explaining what is changing in your MyPriority plan for the next year, such as changes in copays, deductibles, monthly premiums, and what the plan pays for. If you do nothing, you stay enrolled in that same plan in the new year.

If the plan you have now is discontinued for the next year, the letter we send you will suggest a similar plan and explain the differences between your current plan and the one we are suggesting for next year. Again, if you do nothing, you will be enrolled in the plan we suggest automatically.

If you decide to change your plan to a different MyPriority plan offered by either Priority Health or a plan from another company, follow the instructions in the letter we send you for terminating your current plan.

Canceling your plan

You can cancel (end, terminate) your plan contract with us at any time by giving us at least 14 days' notice. You can give us notice by writing us a letter or by calling Customer Service at the number on the back of your membership ID card telling us what month you want your plan to end.
