Priority Health announces new board member

(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — February 2, 2024) Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan that serves more than 1.3 million members, welcomes Joshua Hulst, co-founder and managing partner of Michigan Software Labs, as a new board member. As of January 1, 2024, Hulst is one of 17 Priority Health board members helping guide the organization to achieve its mission and vision.

Hulst founded Michigan Software Labs in 2010 out of a deep interest in the technical challenges of software and how best to overcome them. He has steadily assembled a technically advanced group of developers and designers who think about solving client challenges the way they would for themselves. The company is engaging with clients on a global level in industries ranging from automotive and logistics to technology and health care.

“We are excited to have Joshua join our board and provide guidance on advancing our mission and vision to make health simple, affordable, equitable and exceptional,” said Praveen Thadani, president of Priority Heath.

Ann Harten, board chair, said, “Joshua’s passion for software and technology advancements and for serving our communities will be a great asset as we continue to work to make health coverage more accessible and affordable.”

Hulst is chair of the Ada Parks and Recreation Land Preservation, co-chair of Connecting Community in Ada, and a board member of The Right Place. He received an MBA from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University.

“Priority Health consistently drives innovation in the health care sector,” said Hulst. “I’m excited to join an outstanding team and contribute to the ongoing growth of community health in the West Michigan region.”
