(May 25, 2007) This past week, the New England Journal of Medicine published
an article identifing a potential increase in the risk of heart attack and
death related to the use of the popular diabetes drug rosiglitazone maleate
(Avandia). The FDA is replying to this finding, pointing to
contradictory information from "other published and unpublished data from
long-term clinical trials of Avandia."
