Take me out to the ball game

Save the date: Grandparents' Day at the Whitecaps is Aug. 24
Our annual Grandparents' Day at the Whitecaps is on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m., when the West Michigan Whitecaps host the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Ballpark in Grand Rapids.

Come early this year and be part of the action -- if you're ready to fire your fastball, 50 grandparents can take the field and throw a first pitch. All 50 will receive two free tickets and an autographed baseball as a memento. You can also play catch with your grandkids on the field before the game and then run the bases with them after.

In addition, the first 1,000 kids will eat free, and the first 400 people will receive a special gift from Priority Health. Go to whitecapsbaseball.com to get your tickets and sign up to throw a first pitch. See you at the ball game!

Traverse City Beach Bums Senior Night

Join us on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 5 p.m., as we partner with the Traverse City Senior Center to celebrate Senior Night at the Traverse City Beach Bums baseball game. The first 500 guests will receive a free T-shirt from Priority Health.

In addition to watching some great baseball, you can register for the 29th Annual Northwest Michigan Senior Games, which will take place Sept. 10–11 in Traverse City. All seniors who sign up for the Senior Games during the baseball game will get a discount on registration.

For more information about the Senior Games, call the Traverse City Senior Center at 231 922-4911 or visit tcseniorcenter.com. For Traverse City Beach Bums tickets, visit traversecitybeachbums.com.
