About the costs

How was this cost calculated?
  • The costs provided are only estimates and may or may not represent your actual costs.  Treatments and therefore costs for an individual person may vary based on the intensity of the condition, the complexity of treating the condition, individual physician practices and physician rates.
  • The costs presented are based on claims from the last 18 months and represent the amount Priority Health paid to a contracted physician, hospital or other provider for our members with coverage through their employer.
  • We exclude Medicare and Medicaid recipients as well as services where another payer such as Blue Cross is the first payer.
  • Estimates for specific health conditions, such as diabetes, are calculated using the Cave Consulting Grouper® software version 3.1 (http://www.cavegroup.com).    This software organizes claims data by health condition and bundles all costs including doctors, surgeons, x-rays, lab tests, hospital fees and prescription drugs.
The calculations contained on this screen are based on Priority Health's proprietary database of claims information and other assumptions and inputs. Priority Health makes no warranty, either expressed or implied, about the accuracy of results for any individual.
