2011 Senior Impact Award winners announced

(September 27, 2011)

Priority Health has honored four senior volunteers with its Senior Impact Award this year.

The Priority Health annual Senior Impact Awards program recognizes volunteers 63 years and older who devote their time and energy toward improving their communities. Winning volunteers received a donation of $1,000 each to the organizations at which they volunteer.

"By creating these awards we are able to see the incredible work that is being done in our communities," said Kimberly K. Horn, president and CEO for Priority Health. "Each winner and nominee is an inspiration."

Priority Health partnered with both the United Way and Volunteers Centers of Michigan throughout the state to identify senior volunteers, collect nominations and select winners. The award winners are chosen based on their ability to inspire and motivate others and their exceptional contributions. An independent group of community members select each award winner. The program received more than 160 nominations this year.
