(September 19, 2012)
The Michigan Association of Health Plans, an industry voice for the state's health care plans, has recognized two Priority Health initiatives with Pinnacle Awards for their outstanding contributions to increasing efficiency and patient care, helping lower costs and increase service to Michigan residents.
"The Michigan Association of Health Plans has sponsored the Pinnacle Awards since 2001, giving our members a chance to share their best ideas to improve wellness, increase medical care delivery efficiency and lower costs while maintaining high quality," said Rick Murdock, executive director of MAHP. "We believe these awards help our members improve their operations in a way that benefits members and the state as a whole."
Programs were judged by a panel comprised of health care experts, lawmakers and news media.
Priority Health's winning initiatives include:
HealthInSite -- Giving employers answers about health care spending (Business/Operational Performance -- Commercial): HealthInSite, an innovative tool developed by Priority Health, analyzes the health of employees and their dependents and how these individuals use their health care benefits.
Health Risk Integration Project (Health Care Technology -- Commercial, Honorable Mention) - Priority Health developed a successful team-based approach to improving wellness, using experts in information technology, wellness analytics and effective wellness program planning strategy.
