MHSC Hospital Safety Charts

Here you'll find ratings of the safety of area hospitals from the Michigan Health and Safety Coalition (MHSC) Consumer Report*, which comes out in December of each year.

The eight hospital safety ratings charts shown here report 2006 results for each of the hospitals that responded voluntarily to the annual MHSC survey. They also show the number of each procedure the hospitals have done and compare it to the coalition's recommended volume. Click on any safety measure to see the results:

How this information is collected
The Michigan Health and Safety Coalition produces hospital guidelines for patient treatment for seven serious medical conditions and care in the intensive care unit (ICU). All Michigan hospitals are invited to respond to a survey about their activities. Responses are compared to coalition guidelines and published in an annual Consumer Report.
