Help for tobacco users
The 36th Annual Great American Smokeout, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is a day set aside to encourage smokers to go 24 hours without smoking, but you can help your patients quit whenever they come in for an office visit. When you talk with your patients about the risks of tobacco use, this is a covered benefit. And when you’re counseling patients, you may want to encourage them to participate in this year’s Smokeout on Thursday, November 17, 2011. Participating in the event can be a great way to start quitting.
