CMS introduction of new influenza vaccine codes
As of Jan. 1, 2011, CMS retired Medicare influenza vaccine code 90658. Priority Health
will be following this code change as well. CMS has established five alternate HCPCS as a
means to provide separate code options for each influenza vaccine manufacturer. The newly
introduced HCPCS include:
- Q2035 Afluria
- Q2036 Flulaval
- Q2037 Fluvirun
- Q2038 Fluzone
- Q2039 NOS
