Medicaid highlights: MIHP and Plan First!
The Medicaid Maternal Infant Health Program's (MIHP) goal is for every pregnancy to be a planned pregnancy. Please continue to discuss family planning and contraceptive methods during OB office visits and at the four- to six-week postpartum visit.
Pregnant women are eligible for Medicaid eight weeks after delivery, so please assist patients in applying for Plan First! (ages 19-44) after their Medicaid coverage expires. Patients may apply for Plan First! at their local health department or by clicking
here
.
To view the Medicaid Provider Manual's Family Planning Covered Codes—Plan First!, visit
