PIP measure targets
We’ve set new benchmarks for three measures:
- Diabetes care controlled HbA1c less than 7.0%
- Diabetes care controlled HbA1c less than 8.0%
- Asthma medication management
Benchmarks are based on 2009 plan performance. The benchmarks are defined as a Priority Health Standard of Excellence.

For PIP 2011, we anticipate using the HEDIS 90th percentile results for both controlled HbA1c measures. We expect the spring 2010 HEDIS audit will yield national performance benchmarks.
