Chiropractic services covered according to fee schedule
(February 25, 2010)
Effective Jan. 5, 2010, legislation enacted by the state of Michigan expanded the services Michigan chiropractors are allowed to perform. Priority Health's coverage will not change as a result of this legislation. We will continue to cover short-term acute spinal manipulation services, which has always been our policy.
- Priority Health will continue to cover chiropractic services listed on the Case Rate Fee Schedule.
- Claims for non-covered services will be denied as not contracted.
- Services that are not on the Case Rate Fee Schedule do not need to be billed to Priority Health.
If patients request services that are not on the Case Rate Fee Schedule:
- Inform the patient prior to rendering services that it is not a covered service and explain what their financial responsibility will be.
- Have the patient sign the Patient Acknowledgment of Financial Responsibility form (103KB PDF) indicating they understand the services they receive will be their financial responsibility.
Chiropractors who need an additional copy of their Case Rate Fee Schedule should contact their provider representative directly or through the Provider Helpline at 800 942-4765.
