Radiology service quality assessment

Low-tech radiology service providers

Practitioner offices are privileged by specialty to perform low-tech diagnostic radiology services. They do not need to participate in the quality assessment process outlined below.

  • Freestanding or hospital-based i maging facilities are not assessed for low-tech radiology.
  • Echocardiography and vascular services require specific accreditation. See chart.

Radiology provider quality assessment process

  • Administered by AIM Specialty Care. Get details at www.providerportal.com.
  • Evaluates a site's equipment, imagers' qualifications, policies and procedures to ensure that the site meets safety and quality standards.
  • Sites may be required to go through assessment every 3 years.
