Radiology service quality assessment
Low-tech radiology service providers
Practitioner offices are privileged by specialty to perform low-tech diagnostic radiology services. They do not need to participate in the quality assessment process outlined below.
- Freestanding or hospital-based i maging facilities are not assessed for low-tech radiology.
- Echocardiography and vascular services require specific accreditation. See chart.

Radiology provider quality assessment process
- Administered by AIM Specialty Care. Get details at www.providerportal.com.
- Evaluates a site's equipment, imagers' qualifications, policies and procedures to ensure that the site meets safety and quality standards.
- Sites may be required to go through assessment every 3 years.
