Priority Health took several factors into consideration when deciding on this program for high-tech radiology service requests:

• The health care risk to members of not having tests
• The fact that the literature indicates no health impacts from studies not performed
• The threat to member's health posed by increased radiation exposure
• National and state trends in radiology usage and cost management
• The expectation that employer groups have of us to provide oversight to both those trends
