Referral process
It's easy to refer a member to a Priority Health Spine Center of Excellence:
Go to the list of Spine Centers of Excellence
Who can refer: Any participating primary care physician, emergency room physician or urgent care center can refer a patient for evaluation by a Spine Center physiatrist.
Prior authorization from Priority Health is not required for a referral to a Spine Center.
Surgical referrals: All referrals for spine-related problems to a spine surgeon require prior authorization and plan approval.
Follow-up: The Spine Center physiatrist confirms a diagnosis, and gives patients and the referring physician treatment recommendations. Shared decision-making tools help patients understand the various treatment options, including their risks and benefits.
