Priority Health expands service area in Sanilac and Huron counties

(FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – March 22, 2010) Priority Health has expanded the coverage area for its PriorityHMOSM and PriorityPPOSM products to include all of Huron and Sanilac counties. Through this expansion, McKenzie Memorial Hospital in Sandusky joins the more than 100 hospitals included in the Priority Health network.

In all, 26 additional townships in northeastern Huron and Sanilac counties were included in this expansion. The expansion was approved by the State of Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation, which regulates health plans. It was the sixth expansion of the health plan since October 2008.

"Priority Health is pleased to continue our growth throughout the state," said Kimberly K. Horn, president and CEO. "Through this expansion, employers and healthcare consumers will benefit from increased competition in the marketplace. Now employers in Michigan’s Thumb will have a new alternative for health benefits."
