Priority Health expands into northeast Michigan
(FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – May 6, 2009) Priority Health, a nationally recognized health plan, has announced further expansion of its HMO service area. The expansion covers three northeastern Michigan counties: Oscoda, Ogemaw and Iosco.
The service area expansion was approved by the State of Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation (OFIR), which regulates health plans. "This expansion of our HMO service area ensures that Priority Health covers all of the northern Lower Peninsula," said Mike Koziara, vice president for provider network strategy. Major health systems included in the Priority Health provider network in these counties include Tawas St. Joseph Health System in Tawas City, West Branch Regional Medical Center in West Branch and Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City.
