PriorityMedicare plans earn 5-star rating

(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Nov. 20, 2008) Priority Health offers the only five-star rated Medicare Advantage plans in Michigan. The ratings were published by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services in its annual Medicare & You booklet mailed to all Medicare beneficiaries prior the Nov. 15-Dec. 31 open enrollment period. The rating was determined by a survey of Medicare beneficiaries conducted by Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS).

"Priority Health is proud to be recognized by our Medicare members with this exemplary rating," said Leon Lamoreaux, vice president of Government Programs for Priority Health. "We are committed to providing access to excellent and affordable health care to all people. Our Medicare Advantage plans are a testament to that."

Priority Health’s Medicare Advantage plans vary in price based on where individuals live and what benefits they need. Those individuals eligible for Medicare may choose from three Medicare Advantage plans or a prescription-drug plan Priority Health offers, including:
  • PriorityMedicare ValueSM offers the lowest monthly premiums – for those individuals who don't use their medical benefits very often.
  • PriorityMedicareSM offers a slightly higher premium than PriorityMedicare Value, with lower copays and out-of-pocket costs.
  • PriorityMedicare PlusSM offers medical coverage similar to PriorityMedicare with enhanced prescription-drug coverage in the Medicare Part D coverage gap, called the "donut hole."
  • PriorityMedicare RxSM is a stand-alone prescription-drug plan. It is available to Medicare-eligible individuals throughout the state of Michigan.
