Priority Health expands coverage area
(FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – February 18, 2008) Priority Health, one of the largest health plans in Michigan, has expanded the coverage area for its HMO product to include Clare, Midland and Gratiot counties and part of Monroe County. The expansion was approved by the State of Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS), which regulates health plans.
Through this expansion, Priority Health has increased its coverage area within Bay, Gladwin, Isabella and Mecosta counties and now serves Lenawee County in its entirety. Priority Health now serves 60 counties in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula including metropolitan areas such as southeastern Michigan. "This expansion enables employers to offer nationally recognized health plans designed to make life a little easier for their employees and families." Major health systems included in the Priority Health provider network in these counties include MidMichigan Health in Midland; Covenant HealthCare and St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw; Bixby Medical Center in Adrian; and Herrick Medical Center in Tecumseh.
