New ID Numbers Protect Members' Privacy

Attention Providers
No changes are required in your records. You may bill Priority Health and access records
online using the old or new ID numbers. All reports from Priority Health will show only the new ID numbers.

Reminder: When ID cards show only the last four digits of the ID number preceded by Xs, please submit the contract holder's complete name and date of birth when billing us for services.

If you have questions about ID cards, please call your Field Service Representative or the Provider Help Line: 800 942-4765 or 942-4765.
Over the course of 2005, Priority Health will be changing contract ID numbers so that Social Security numbers (SSNs) no longer appear on ID cards, reports and other correspondence. Eliminating SSNs will help protect our members from identity crimes.

Current ID cards are still valid
ID cards with old numbers will remain valid and will continue to be accepted by all physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and other health care providers. Either Social Security numbers or the new contract number may be used when communicating with Priority Health.

Receiving a new card
Most members will not receive a new card until a benefit change requires Priority Health to issue one. Members may request a new ID card with their new number at any time. A message explaining the change will be included with all new ID cards.

Telling the new from the old

All new contract numbers will begin with the number 9 to distinguish them as converted numbers.
