New member ID cards in the mail

(July 15, 2005) New ID cards are going in the mail to all Priority Health members in the next two weeks. What's new?

Improved privacy.
Unique randomly generated numbers have replaced Social Security numbers as contract numbers.

New out-of-area coverage for groups with a travel benefit option.
Private Health Care Systems (PHCS) offers an even larger provider network for members traveling outside our service area, as well as greater discounts (and savings) for employers.

Shows all covered participants.
All covered family members are listed, followed by their unique contract numbers.

PCPs no longer listed.
For plans requiring primary care providers, this will reduce the number of cards reissued due to PCP changes.

In addition, the mailer containing members' new cards promotes the value of logging into their private Priority Health accounts at priorityhealth.com. A member will see:
  • checkups and screenings that might be due
  • a claims history (complete with costs they paid vs. what Priority Health paid)
  • copayments and deductibles
  • plus information that will help them make smarter health care decisions.

Employees should discard their old ID cards when they receive their new ones.
Note: Image shows sample card. Your plan cards may vary.
