Foote Health System to partner with leading Michigan health plan

Jackson, MI - Foote Health System has announced its decision to transition the services provided by Physicians Health Plan of South Michigan (PHPSM) to Priority Health, an award-winning health plan based in Michigan.

This transition reflects Foote's desire to provide the Jackson area with a comprehensive, community-based health plan. This agreement also supports the Health System's mission of leading the community to better health and well being and embraces its vision of providing cost-effective care.

This transition mirrors a nationwide trend to larger, more robust health insurance organizations that offer a wider array of products, services and technology.

Priority Health is a nationally recognized health plan company based in Michigan, serving more than 550,000 members with a broad portfolio of products including HMOs, PPOs, HSAs, Medicaid and Medicare. Priority Health was ranked second in Michigan and thirteenth in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in October 2006.

During the transition, there will be no interruption of service to current PHPSM members.
