What has changed? Who is Priority Health? How does this affect my health care coverage? Do I have to do anything now to continue my current Care Choices / Preferred Choices coverage? Can I continue to use my Care Choices member ID card? Will my copayments and benefits change during the current benefit year? Will I be able to continue seeing the same doctor and using the same hospital? How many doctors and hospitals can I choose from? Will I be able to choose a Care Choices or Preferred Choices plan again when my enrollment year is up? Who do I contact for more information? What has changed? On April 1, the sale of Care Choices to Priority Health was final. Our two organizations are now one. Care Choices staff have become Priority Health employees, and the Care Choices office in Farmington Hills is staying open. Who is Priority Health? Like Care Choices, Priority Health is a Michigan-based, nationally recognized non-profit health solutions company. For more than 20 years we have ranked among the nation's best health plans. Our headquarters are in Grand Rapids and we also have offices in Holland, Traverse City, Saginaw and Kalamazoo. How does this affect my Care Choices / Preferred Choices coverage? Your current coverage will not change through the end of your contract year. Your primary care physician will continue to coordinate your care in the same manner as before. The only difference is that your coverage is now underwritten by Priority Health. Do I have to do anything now to continue my current Care Choices / Preferred Choices coverage? No. Can I continue to use my Care Choices member ID card? Yes. Will my copayments and benefits change? Not until your plan year is up. Priority Health is honoring the commitments Care Choices has made to you and your providers, including prompt payment of claims and timely response to requests for authorization of services. Will I be able to continue seeing the same doctors and using the same hospital? In most cases, the answer is yes. However, doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers do decide to change networks from time to time. If a provider is no longer an option for you, we can help you find a new provider. How many doctors and hospitals can I choose from? Priority Health now offers more than 11,000 physicians and 80 hospitals in Michigan to choose from. A complete listing of the provider network will be on priorityhealth.com soon in the Find a Doctor online directory. Will I be able to choose a Care Choices or Preferred Choices plan again when my enrollment year is up? No, but Priority Health offers plans that are very similar to the plan you now have. Your employer will have new products and services to consider in the future.
