5 Mile Hill Raises $10,000

Priority Health 5 Mile Hill Climb raises more than $10,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation

The Priority Health 5 Mile Hill Climb raised more than $10,000 in pledges to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation and support people living with cancer. Approximately 57 professional and amateur cyclists competed in events throughout the day to complete more than 600 hill climbs around Grand Haven's 130-foot-high 5 Mile Hill.

"Priority Health is proud to be a part of community events such as the 5 Mile Hill Climb," said Kimberly K. Horn, president and CEO of Priority Health. "We're motivating kids and families to be active and stay healthy. This event also brings our Michigan communities together to support a great cause: conquering cancer for tomorrow's generations and helping people who are living with cancer today."

The top winners of this year's 5 Mile Hill Climb competition in the Advanced Cycling Race were Danielle Musto from Grand Rapids, with a total of 41 hill climbs, and Mike Workman from Grand Haven, with 49 hill climbs.

This year, the 5 Mile Hill Climb featured new family-friendly events including a "Team Spirit Challenge" and a kid's safety presentation.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation received 100 percent of the donations raised from the event.
