On Tuesday, September 19, Priority Health was recognized by the Michigan Association of Health Plans with two Pinnacle Awards. Priority Health was selected from over 65 entries to earn Pinnacle Awards for two programs:
Community Outreach/Partnerships: PATH Program: Improving Outcomes for Older Americans - A Community Approach Priority Health, in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan and Grand Valley State University, developed a program to improve the quality of life for seniors. The program focuses on helping seniors with chronic diseases learn practical skills such as managing pain, dealing with fatigue and stress and developing personal exercise programs. Special Recognition: Find a Doctor Tool: Helping Patients Find Quality, Fast This award was specifically created by the Pinnacle Award judges to recognize Priority Health's work in developing a critical and user-friendly Web tool to help members find health care providers. The award states, "The judges wish to recognize Priority Health for exceptional membership service and support in designing a Web-site physician locater that emphasizes clear, understandable language and design to meet articulated needs of their members." Each year MAHP recognizes health plans for outstanding performance in three categories including Health Care Programs, Administration/Operations, and Community Partnerships. Health plans are chosen by an independent panel of judges from state-wide organizations including the Michigan Nurses Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Michigan Health & Hospital Association, and the Michigan Primary Care Association.
