Why choose Priority Health?

When you're looking for affordable health insurance coverage in Michigan, look to us. We combine affordability with excellent health care. Priority Health, a leading Michigan health insurance company, ranks among the nation's top health insurance plans for improving customers' health, and consistently beats the national average in containing health care costs.

Here are some of the ways that our health insurance company keeps costs down and quality of care high:

A comprehensive network of Michigan's best health care providers.
Looking for a Michigan doctor that receives high ratings? Our online Find a Doctor directory identifies primary care physicians in Michigan and other primary care providers who meet the highest standards. Search for leading Michigan doctors by name or by zip code, then check the "apple" quality ratings for the four-apple doctors. You can also use the Safety & Quality section of this Michigan health insurance company website to check Michigan hospital ratings.

Exceptional customer service
In 2007, Priority Health ranked among the nation's top health plans in customer satisfaction, as measured by the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH). There are many reasons for this - more personal attention, less paperwork, and smarter systems all make us the leading health insurance company in Michigan.

Engaging people in their health care
We offer online health information from WebMD, and health assessments to help people understand their health risks. The result? They use their health benefits more effectively.

Priority Health's wellness classes and preventive service reminders can help people stay healthy.
Diabetes, asthma, disability - any chronic condition can turn a life upside down. Our disease management nurses help people find the best treatments for them individually while avoiding extreme (and expensive) procedures that have been shown to be of little benefit.

Trust
More than 8,500 Michigan companies and over half a million people trust our Priority Health as their Michigan health insurance company for health benefits.

And more than 95 percent of our customers would recommend us to their family and friends as the leading health insurance company in Michigan.

Founded in 1986, Priority Health is rated one of the top health insurance plans in the nation. We're based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and owned by three Michigan health systems:

Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Munson Health Care in Traverse City, Michigan.

Northern Michigan Regional Health System in Petoskey, Michigan.

Our health plans offer both affordability and excellence.

In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Priority Health scored in the top 20 of all managed health care plans in the nation, as reported in the magazine US News & World Report. We were rated by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), an independent managed-care accrediting organization.
